Collage of Carley and her family

Carley lives in Northern California and is 33 years old. She is married and a mother of 2 biological children and a step-son whom she helped raise. She successfully completed a surrogacy journey in 2016 and is ready to begin her second journey. Here are some questions we asked:

What is your favorite thing to do together as a family? Our favorite thing to do as a family is to go fishing, hiking, swimming, camping and go out on the boat. This year we haven’t as much as we would like to due to our work schedules, but we take every chance we can to spend time with each other and give the kids memories they won’t forget.

What was it like to have a baby for your family, following the birth of a surrogate baby? I seriously felt like I was done after my daughter, and that’s when I decided to pursue surrogacy. After having my surro babe, something changed and we decided to try for another baby for ourselves. We were blessed to have him. It is kind of weird when I explain this to other people, but Austin just fits perfectly into our family and I felt like even though it wasn’t the ideal surrogacy situation (as it is preferred for us to be done with our own children before), it really put life into perspective of how blessed we are to have our kids. Oh… and my daughter would not stop asking for a sister (jokes on her, as she got a brother… but loves him dearly!)

What was the best part of your first surrogacy journey? I really enjoyed my first journey. I feel like I had a really laid back intended mother who truly put all her trust in me, which is something that I respected. She listened to my wishes and respected it. She took care of me when I asked for accommodations and she and her family are the sweetest. She is a very deserving mother and was so happy I could help her achieve her wishes of being a mother again.

What are you looking forward to the most for this journey? I am looking forward to meeting my new match and getting this started. I can’t wait to deliver the news to the IPs and blessing a family with the greatest gift of all.
