Surrogate Spotlight – Kiara
1. What first led you to think about becoming a surrogate?
I learned about surrogacy from my best friend who had an amazing first surrogacy experience. I got to watch her go through the pregnancy and see the amazing experience! I knew I wanted to be a surrogate after I understood how much joy it brought to the couple (her IPs). It was such a beautiful thing to see. I also have a very close family friend who tried for 6 years to get pregnant and the struggles she went through made my heart hurt so much for her, knowing how badly she wanted a baby. After her third attempt at IVF she became pregnant herself, but for so many years she went through so much hurt. I would love to help a couple who has had some of the same struggles or that of similar troubles, and give them the joy of being a parent.
2. What have you found to like/appreciate about your journey so far?
So far with my journey, I have talked to so many different people and heard so many stories from other surrogates that are just so inspiring and makes me even more excited to start. The amount of support Abundant Beginnings gives you is amazing.
3. What does your family/friends who are supportive think about it?
My family and friends think it is such an amazing and exciting experience. They have all been very interested in asking me questions and showing support.
4. What is something you’d like to say to your future intended parents?
To my future intended parents, I am very excited to meet you and go through this awesome experience with you. Being a parent has been such a huge blessing in my life, it gave my life new meaning. I can’t wait to help you experience the same thing. I know how nerve racking being a parent can be, but I hope I can help make this as easy as possible for you. I hope to meet you very soon!
5. What do you hope to gain from this experience? Is there anything you hope to learn from being a surrogate?
This journey already has given me a different outlook on pregnancy. I never really thought about how lucky I was to get pregnant with such ease and how others don’t have that. I look forward to learning more and hearing different couples and their struggles and being able to help with that. It makes me very excited to continue my journey becoming a surrogate.
